Here at Diono, a leading juvenile products manufacturer, we want to add another milestone to September, one that we talk about year-round in the industry, but never have the opportunity to celebrate.
Because of this, we are announcing our intent to celebrate the first annual Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Appreciation Day on September 14, 2019.
This will be a part of our larger Safety Month activities, to fully acknowledge the CPSTs as the unsung heroes of the car seat world. Diono will recognize their contributions to global child safety, to celebrate the collaborative community that makes our industry what it is.
A Word From Our CEO
“As a juvenile safety brand, we felt it was finally time to give child passenger safety technicians the recognition they deserve for making the roads safer for our smallest passengers,” Diono CEO Tim Maule elaborates. “These men and women care so deeply for children, and their work has a profound and life-saving impact in the communities they serve. We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate CPST contributions to child safety this September.”
What Makes a CPST?
CPSTs must complete a rigorous certification program led by a certified trainer and administered by the nonprofit organization Safe Kids Worldwide in the United States. Similar courses are available through safety partners worldwide. CPSTs serve their communities by helping parents achieve a safe car seat installation, by conduction presentations on child safety, and much more. Currently, there are over 40,000 CPSTs active in the United States.
Thank you for everything, CPSTs! You make our industry what it is today, and it wouldn’t be the same without you.
